Cartwrights wastes no time with five new MULTILIFT demountables

Hiab stories | 19 january 2021 12 :40 PM

Cartwrights Waste Disposal based in the West Midlands, UK, has added five new Hiab MULTILIFTs installed on DAF chassis to its fleet of specialist trucks.

The investment will help the family-run business manage increasing demand from skip hire and commercial waste customers across the central part of England.

Hiab’s remote-controlled operation on the skiploaders and automatic sheet coverings give the drivers more time to increase the number of daily drops and collections by up to 60%.

The four MULTILIFT FUTURA 12 skiploaders and additional MULTILIFT ULTIMA 24 hookloader joins an existing fleet of 18 trucks and four trailers - the business now boasts a 27-strong fleet.

Scott Cartwright-Smith, operations manager for Cartwrights Waste Disposal said: “We already have several Hiabs within our fleet which have helped us to streamline our operation to carry out more collections of recycled wastes including paper and card, plastics, metals, green wastes and aggregates.

“Before using Hiab equipment, our drivers completed up to 12 collections in one day. We’re now recording up to 20 collections thanks to the fast performance of the Hiab skiploaders and hookloaders – it’s a real game changer.

“Our drivers really enjoy working with the equipment because it’s so reliable and they can easily deliver skips over walls or hedges with confidence using the smooth remote controls.

“This is why we chose to expand our fleet further. We can meet the growing demand from customers and bring significant cost saving benefits to our business.”

Martin Briggs, MULTILIFT product specialist for Hiab UK said: “Our equipment is designed to help businesses improve their performance, while keeping people safe. The remote controlled skip loaders have proved invaluable for Cartwrights Waste Disposal and I’m really pleased to work with the team to expand their fleet with an additional five skip loaders and hookloader.”

Cartwrights has delivered waste management services throughout for over 35 years from its Telford-based recycling facility and head office.
