An important seaside delivery

RNLI lifeboat crews are volunteers who are on-call 24/7 to save lives at sea around the UK and Ireland. To help them with their work they have recently acquired a HIAB X-HiPro 558 EP-6 crane, which will be used for the delivery of beach lifeguard units, mooring equipment and inshore lifeboats/hovercrafts.

This is a compact crane with an optimised boom specifically designed for heavy and bulky loads. An EP boom gives more lifting power, longer reach and lower weight of the crane when only six extensions are needed. Installed with the help of the pre-manufactured, fully bolted, sub frame solution FRAMEWORKS on a three-axle Volvo truck, the crane is packed with features such as SAF, Cyclone Oil Tank and VSL Plus.

RNLI stands for Royal National Lifeboat Institution and is a charity, separate from the coastguard and independent from the government. The charity operates a lifeboat and lifeguards search and rescue service around the UK and Ireland and is reliant on voluntary donations to fund its lifesaving work and provide the best kit and training for its lifesavers. 

Every day of every year, people of all backgrounds get into danger in the water. It’s a problem that RNLI are here to tackle.

Today, they are busier than ever but, with the public’s support, they are working harder than ever to end preventable drowning. In addition to 24/7 search and rescue lifeboat service, they operate a seasonal lifeguard service. Every year, volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards help and rescue thousands of people and have saved over 142,700 lives since 1824. Countless more lives are saved through their youth education and water safety work.
