Hiab Benelux expands Dutch dealer and service network

Hiab, part of Cargotec, has acquired the sales, installation and service activities of the Netherlands largest Hiab dealer, Damen Hydrauliek. All of Damen’s three sites in the southern part of the Netherlands were transferred to Hiab on 1 April 2021. 

“The take over strengthens our direct sales model for the Dutch market and secures continuity for our customers who were previously excellently served by Damen. We will invest in our new sites to create a better service offering and customer experience,” says Ignace van Stekelenburg, Director Sales & Service, Benelux, Hiab.

Damen started as a dealer in 1979 with Hiab in its portfolio and has been key to Hiab’s success in the southern part of the Netherlands with sales offices and workshops in Best, Venray and Elsloo. Damen has been key to service Hiab equipment with ProCare service & maintenance contracts in the region. Sadly, the founder Wim Damen passed away in 2020, but the current Managing Director Mr Fred Schroef will support a successful integration, after which he will retire.
