Career with Hiab
Hiab is committed to shaping the future of smart and sustainable load handling. We strive for a sustainable and safer world. With an eye on the future and on our customers’ evolving needs, we think beyond the obvious to deliver what really matters.
To become the preferred partner for our customers, to contribute to their success and earn their loyalty - we need to constantly challenge and develop our offering and ourselves.
Hiab is a truly international business. With around 3,400 employees we are present in North and South America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. What unites us is a strong Hiab culture with our core values; reliable, caring and pioneering. We embrace diversity and would like indeed to attract more female and young talent into our exciting industry.
To be able to deliver on our ambitious targets, we need to have engaged employees. Therefore, Employees First is one of the major themes in our strategy. Our Employees First culture creates an environment in which we all feel respected and heard, see growth opportunities and share our core company values. It creates an environment in which it is easy to do our daily work, making the processes and ways of working clear to everyone. Employees First ensures that we are enabled to do a great job, are confident to make the right decisions and are motivated to develop and grow. It enables us to strive for success and win as a team.
For us it is important to keep our people engaged and motivated. We believe that leadership is key to making Hiab a better place to work. With excellent leadership we are able to achieve better business results. In order to have the best possible leaders we make sure to provide our managers with training, coaching, opportunities to participate in various workshops as well as concrete tools. Our leadership approach is crystallised into three themes: Lead with Purpose, Empower for Performance, and Collaborate to Win. These themes are applied throughout the whole organisation and across national boundaries - because everyone has the right to work in a great climate.
In order for everyone to feel that they are doing a meaningful job, we make sure that the tasks and targets of each employee are linked to the company strategy. We also understand the importance of continuous learning and development. Therefore, we have incorporated a Performance and Development Planning (PDP) process. The PDP process ensures that line managers annually set and review personal targets with their team members. We strive for all employees to have their own development plan that captures the employees needs, motivation and path forward in their individual development and career. At Hiab we also foster an open dialogue and encourage our employees to give feedback and share their improvement ideas.
What do you think?
At Hiab we strive for continuous improvement and therefore we want to know what our people think. In our annual Compass engagement survey, all employees are encouraged to share their thoughts on a wide range of topics, from a balanced work environment to leadership and team climate. The results are analysed and our business areas follow up on any findings that point to development needs.
We work closely with our customers and partners across language, cultural, and professional barriers. In all our activities, we are committed to full compliance with our Code of Conduct, as well as applicable national and international laws and regulations.
