Established in 1945 by the legendary Cecil Moffett, MOFFETT Engineering began its journey crafting unique equipment for the local agricultural industry.

Did you know that MOFFETT’s early machinery included a potato harvester? In the 1960s, as MOFFETT Engineering's horizons expanded, Mr. Cecil Moffett began crafting steel moulds for concrete goods, which then became the company’s star product. 

In the 1980s, MOFFETT Engineering expanded to the new, promising materials handling sector and launched new machines, including the MOFFETT Mounty, the Multi-Functional Tractor MFT, and the Mixveyor.

In 1996, MOFFETT Engineering acquired a state-of-the-art factory and advanced machinery to further its vision. In 2000, MOFFETT moved the production of the Mounty to Dundalk, while discontinuing the MFT. 

The MOFFETT Mounty emerged after two years of intensive research and development into distribution methods across various industrial sectors. This groundbreaking machine has driven an incredible surge in sales, from just 14 units in 1986 to an astonishing 100,000 units by 2024.

The booming demand also fueled a significant increase in turnover during the early 2000s, with nearly 40 machines being produced each week. Impressively, over 97% of MOFFETT Mounty units were exported to more than 30 countries across five continents.

In the early 2000s our dedication to product quality, safety, and innovation sparked a new product development program, leading to the introduction of several advanced models. In 2004, the merger of MOFFETT Engineering Ltd and Kooiaap BV led to the launch of the MOFFETT M8, showcasing our continued commitment to pioneering truck-mounted forklift technology.

In 2012, we launched the MOFFETT Nx Series in the US. The new model featured a KOHLER KDI 1903 engine that met Tier 4 emission standards, with increased fuel efficiency and significant reduction of emissions. 

The all-electric models have built-in connectivity, advanced displays, and smart features for enhanced safety. In 2012, we developed the MOFFETT E2, followed by the MOFFETT E4; the world's first all-electric truck-mounted forklift, pioneering zero-emissions, and noiseless load handling technology with over a decade-long head start.

In 2021, we launched the second-generation MOFFETT E4 NX all-electric forklift. This cutting-edge series combines top-tier safety with eco-friendly features, including all-wheel drive, 4-way steering, an advanced dashboard display, real-time telematics, and versatile charging options. Ideal for noise-sensitive areas, low-emission zones, and diverse transportation needs, it sets a new standard in efficient and sustainable material handling.

MOFFETT Engineering stands as a global leader in forklift manufacturing, celebrated for our innovation, safety, efficiency, and speed. In December 2022, we proudly announced reaching 90,000 truck-mounted forklifts. By July 2024, we had surpassed 100,000 units—an extraordinary milestone!
