CARGOTEC CORPORATION, PRESS RELEASE, 13 APRIL 2012 AT 1 PM (EEST)
In 2000, Cargotec invited the famous Dutch artist, Herman Brood, to paint a Hiab loader crane at the RAI exhibition. At this year's RAI exhibition, April 17-21, the same crane - a Hiab 102 - will be auctioned to support an independent humanitarian organisation, War Child.
We are happy to announce that the internationally renowned auction company, Troostwijk Auctions, has volunteered to facilitate the auctioning of this unique crane. Troostwijk, Europe's biggest industrial (online) auction company, has the ambition to remain the market leader, which is illustrated by sharing their knowledge and expertise for this charity auction.
The live auction will take place at 5:00 pm on Friday the 20th of April at our stand 07.120 at the RAI exhibition. It is also possible to participate in the auction online, starting one week prior the live auction. Details on how to participate in the auction will be posted on the websites of Troostwijk Auctions (www.troostwijkauctions.com) on the 13th of April.
The multi-talented musician, artist and painter Herman Brood died in 2001 at the age of 54. He was a very well-known and liked cultural personality in the Netherlands and abroad. Brood's art is expressive and modern with clear influences from the pop-art of the 1950s and 1960s, where traditional painting was merged with modern mass culture like comic books, films and advertising.
War Child Netherlands empowers children and young people to change their own future by protecting them from the effects of war, offering psychosocial support and stimulating education.
