ZEPRO has its roots from the end of the 1940s when John Westling founded Bispgårdens Smidesverkstad, which became Bispgårdens Svets & Smide. The company produced components for use in the forestry industry.
Expansion began in the beginning of the 1970s with the development of ZEPRO tail lifts. Interest grew for a hydraulic tail lift to bridge the gap between the vehicle floor and the loading dock.
The company experienced rapid growth between 1975-1995 and is now represented by subsidiaries or sales agents in more than 40 countries worldwide.
